Costilla County (Spanish for "rib") is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,499.[1] The county seat is San Luis,[2] the oldest continuously occupied town in Colorado. On July 8, 1694, Spanish Conquistador Don Diego de Vargas and his army, two weeks before the Battle of Astialakwa, reached Costilla County.

Gov. Polis Appoints Tamara Sullivan to the Costilla County Court - Law Week Colorado
Gov. Jared Polis on Sept. 1 appointed Tamara Sullivan to the Costilla County Court in the 12th Judicial District. The vacancy is created by the retirement of Judge Kimberly Wood and is effective Jan. 10, 2023. Sullivan is the managing attorney for the Colorado Legal Services Alamosa office, a position she’s held since 2013.
